Subchrist Software was founded in 2001 and has provided cutting-edge retro-gaming development tools ever since.
Our attention has been almost entirely devoted to the 1980's legend that is the Commodore 64 until the recent release of CharPad C16 Pro which is an advanced tile-map editor for the Commodore 16 and Commodore Plus/4 computers.
Our first project was the development of a tool that could perform digital remastering of software transferred from cassette tapes, it would come to be known as Final TAP, and it played a central role in the race-against-time project to save thousands of classic game tapes (contents) from being lost forever due to magnetic degradation or "bit rot".
From there came the development of SpritePad and CharPad, Windows desktop tools for designing sprite images, animations and game maps for 2D video games.
These tools have been tweaked, tuned and polished for well over a decade now and are considered by most retro-gaming developers to be the best available.
